How Cured Pharmacy Recovered Repeat Revenue With Per-Customer Reorder Reminders
Cured Pharmacy, a Shopify supplements merchant, used Reorder Reminder Pro to schedule personalised reorder reminder emails per customer — replacing manual batch campaigns and recovering repeat orders that previously went unreminded.
Cured Pharmacy sells a curated range of professional-grade supplements directly to consumers via Shopify. Their catalogue includes daily-use products with predictable depletion timelines — vitamins, minerals, and specialist blends — making them an ideal candidate for reorder automation.
The problem: repeat orders left to chance
Before using Reorder Reminder Pro, Cured Pharmacy had no systematic approach to reorder reminders. The team occasionally sent promotional emails that happened to reach customers who were running low, but there was no mechanism to time a reminder to an individual customer’s actual run-out date.
The result was predictable: some customers reordered automatically, but a significant portion lapsed — not because they were dissatisfied, but because they did not receive a prompt at the right moment.
“We knew repeat purchase revenue was sitting there uncaptured. We just did not have the right tooling to reach the right customer at the right time.”
The solution: per-product usage days
Cured Pharmacy configured Reorder Reminder Pro in Manual Mode, setting usage days per product across their range:
| Product | Pack size | Usage days |
|---|---|---|
| Daily multivitamin | 60 capsules, 1/day | 58 |
| Vitamin D3 | 90 softgels, 1/day | 88 |
| Magnesium glycinate | 120 capsules, 2/day | 58 |
| Omega-3 fish oil | 60 softgels, 2/day | 28 |
| Probiotic blend | 30 capsules, 1/day | 28 |
With those values set, the app began scheduling reminders automatically for each qualifying order — each customer receiving their reminder relative to their own purchase date, not a shared batch date.
What changed
Each customer who purchased a qualifying product received a single reminder email approximately 3 days before their estimated run-out date. The email linked directly to the product page using a direct checkout URL — one click to reorder.
No manual segmentation was required after initial setup. New orders were picked up automatically.
Why Reorder Reminder Pro over a generic email flow
Cured Pharmacy had previously explored building a reorder flow in their existing email platform. The blockers were:
- Per-product date offsets — configuring a unique send delay per product across a 40-product catalogue required custom properties on every order, complex branching logic, and ongoing maintenance when products were added or discontinued.
- Accuracy vs effort — the generic flow approximated timing but did not account for variant-level differences (e.g., a 30-capsule vs 60-capsule version of the same supplement).
Reorder Reminder Pro resolved both: usage days are set per product (and per variant if needed) in one place, and the scheduling is handled automatically.
Getting started
If you sell consumables on Shopify and do not have a systematic reorder reminder in place, the setup process is:
- Install Reorder Reminder Pro from the Shopify App Store
- Start in Auto Mode (one global usage period for the whole catalogue)
- Move individual products to Manual Mode as you refine their usage day estimates
- Monitor reminder send volume against plan limits — upgrade when the volume grows
The free plan covers up to 30 reminder emails per month — sufficient for early-stage stores to validate the approach before committing to a paid tier.
